World Cyber Games 2019 (WCG) recently announce that DOTA2 as the first official game title for the return of its global esport event.
2018 September 3rd, WCG officially announced cooperation with Qujiang New District of Xi’an, China to host the WCG 2019 finals from July 18 to July 21 in 2019. WCG Inc. has incorporated various high-tech and modern ideas into its return after five years’ of reflection and preparation. On Feb. 13, WCG released a new version of its theme song ‘Beyond the Game’ with world class DJ Steve Aoki to build hype around its return.
Moreover, there some new technology with relation to esports like AR, VR and Robotics will be show off by WCG. Until now, WCG had only revealed the four official game titles, which were DOTA2, Clash Royale and Chinese mobile game Honor of Kings. Completing the line-up so far is Blizzard’s classic title Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
WCG return with successful was because of the full support of the Government of Xi’an. In year 2017, Xi’an start to develop local esports industry and Qujiang New Districtt was selected as the cultural and creative industry base to accelerate local esports development. In year 2018, Qujiang New distric had partnered with Multi Chinese esports giant which included Team WE and Banana Culture to build an extensive platform for the esports development. Now, Qujiag New District had sign a Memorandum of Understanding with WCG Inc, In order for them to prepare for the return of this world reowned esports festival, and it had been expected that all esports fan will keep eye on Xi’an to witness the return of WCG in the July.
The First event started by WCG was 2000, it has been recognized as world’s largest esports competition for 14 years and the last event was held in Kunshan, China in year 2013. The
The rules and regulation was similar to WESG, which follows the Olympic standard and emphasizes national pride. From 2000 to 2010, it’s safe to say that WCG can be considered as the most important international esports league in the world.
